Memberships
Whether you’re joining for the first time or renewing, welcome to the Esperance-Goldfields Surf Life Saving Club (EGSLSC). We’re more than a beachside club — we’re a community of lifesavers, nippers, athletes, volunteers and families who love the water and look out for one another.
Becoming a member gives you access to training, patrols, competition, education programs, social events and a supportive network of like-minded people. Your membership also helps fund vital lifesaving services that protect our coastline.
Why join?
- Learn lifesaving and first-aid skills.
- Patrol our beaches and help keep the community safe.
- Train, compete and take part in surf sports.
- Join fun social events and fundraising activities.
- Meet new people and give back locally.
All ages and abilities are welcome.
How to Join or Renew
New members
- Register via the Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) online portal and select Esperance-Goldfields SLSC as your club.
- Choose the correct membership category (Individual or Family). If registering a Nipper or Cadet, one parent must also be a financial member.
- Complete the details and make payment — the application is not processed until payment is received.
Renewing members
- Log in to your Member Portal, check and update your details, and complete payment.
- Renewals for the 2025/26 season are open now. Returning Active Patrolling members should renew before October so they remain eligible for patrol rostering. All other renewals should be completed by the end of October.

Important Membership Rules & Benefits
- Financial membership is required to patrol, compete, use club equipment, or access member facilities (e.g. change rooms, showers). This requirement covers insurance and legal obligations.
- Members who are not financial from 31 October will be ineligible for Club, Inter-Club or State Championship competitions and will lose FOB access to club facilities.
- Membership fees keep the Club running — covering insurance, equipment, administration, building maintenance and affiliation. We keep fees as low as possible, but they are essential.
- Members are expected to help with fundraising – this supports ongoing Club operations because Clubs do not receive direct government funding for day-to-day costs.
New Member & Family Notes
- If registering multiple people, choose Family during registration. Enter parent details first, then add additional family members.
- For Nippers and Cadets: at least one parent must be a financial member (e.g. Nipper Parent).
- After submitting an online application, payment is required before the Club can process your membership.
Season & Annual General Meeting
- The season usually runs from October/November through to March/April.
- Signing up for the new season typically opens in September, once fees and details are finalised.
- Our Annual General Meeting is held in early August each year.
-
Social Life & Visitors
We run social events throughout the season — everyone is welcome (members, Nipper parents and friends). Family and friends are welcome to join club social events, but only current financial members may use club equipment and member facilities.
