Surf Sports
Surf Sports play a vital role in Surf Life Saving. Unlike many other sports, the purpose of Surf Sports is to develop the lifesaving skills needed to achieve Surf Life Saving’s core mission: saving lives on our beaches.
Each year, thousands of Surf Life Saving members across WA put their skills to the test in a competitive but supportive environment. From local club carnivals to state and national events, these competitions give lifesavers the chance to sharpen their abilities in a wide variety of disciplines including Ironman, lifesaving, surfboats, pool rescue and IRB racing.
At EGSLSC, members have the opportunity to…
take part in an exciting range of events. Disciplines include beach sprints, beach flags, board events, surf swimming, ski, IRB and surf boats. Rescue and Resuscitation (R&R), First Aid, and March Past also play an important role, giving members of all interests and skill sets the chance to get involved. With most age groups divided into Under 14, Under 15, Under 17, Under 19, Open and Masters, there’s a place for everyone. Training and coaching are offered across the various disciplines throughout the season. Members can join in regular sessions to build skills, fitness and teamwork.
Club Activities
A weekly Club Swim is held on Sundays during the season at 10:30am, with registration before the start. This provides members with a fun, supportive way to train and connect with others.
In addition to club training, members can participate in interclub competitions and multidiscipline carnivals throughout the season. The competition calendar builds towards our Club Championships and the State Surf Life Saving Championships for Surf Rescue, Lifesaving, Beach, Masters and Surf, followed by the prestigious Australian Surf Life Saving Championships (‘The Aussies’).
Senior Training (Under 14 and over)
Senior training sessions run regularly throughout the season, with opportunities across multiple disciplines. Everyone is welcome to come along, no matter your experience level.
